Workflow 2.0

For years many PeopleSoft customers have clamored for a web-interfaced workflow solution that allows for more sophistication. IntraSee created its own Workflow engine and Web 2.0 Worklist Pagelet to address many of the issues with today's workflow.

Workflow 2.0, as we call it, is completely rules driven based on queries and data to drive how the workflow flows. This makes the product fully configurable without the need for extensive coding. One of the best features is called Rendezvous Rules. This entails workflow automatically waiting for multiple people to finish their tasks before the next level is sent an approval request. No longer does the VP need to get a thousand Worklist notifications, now they only get one! Furthermore, creating a new workflow is done entirely through a browser interface. No need to open up Application Designer!

Even better, our workflow engine is exposed as a web service via SOAP. This means that all of your 3rd party systems that integrate with PeopleSoft can easily use the same workflow engine, which in turn provides your users with one consolidated Worklist.

The Worklist Pagelet is fully built with Web 2.0 technologies to help alleviate some of the common problems with vanilla PeopleSoft Worklists. It dynamically uses AJAX to refresh the Worklist without having to refresh the whole page. Portal cache will no longer prevent a user from seeing their most up-to-date Worklist. In addition to its automatic updating, the pagelet allows for dynamic sorting and filtering all without refreshing the page. The pagelet also knows the difference between a worked item and a read item so that it accurately reflects which Worklist items are truly new. You can now run reports to see who is reading their Worklist and who isn't - which can be critical information for time sensitive items.
