Session Title: Building a Web 2.0 PeopleSoft Portal

Session Abstract: Using the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal, and plugging in standard Internet Technologies, Kendle International and IntraSee worked together to create a Web 2.0 portal solution for all Kendle employees worldwide. AJAX, DHTML, and XSLT were used to completely re-skin both the look and usability of the PeopleSoft portal, without having to customize PeopleSoft, by using the delivered hooks and API’s. Also, new functionality was plugged into the portal to allow the business community to define Kendle business processes via a simple to use wizard tool. These business processes were then exposed to employees and managers via a user friendly search tool that would step people through each process. The end product was a portal that could be configured and built by non-technical business users, which also had a user interface that matched the top Internet sites of today.
